Blog Made in America - Protect The Environment

If you buy a cookie cutter, chances are very high that it was either made by us, Vermont-based Ann Clark Cookie Cutters, or by a factory in China. Look at the product label for country of origin. Ann Clark products are clearly marked Made in USA.

Buying made in the USA products makes good sense for many reasons. One reason is to protect the environment. "Chinese steel plants emit significantly more pollution and greenhouse gases per ton of steel produced than plants in the United States", according to an opinion by Peter Navarro, which was titled "The Price of 'Made in China'" and printed Aug. 4, 2013 in The New York Times.

Navarro, an economics professor at the University of California-Irvine, goes on to say, "This not only contributes to global warming but also has a direct negative impact on American soil, since an increasing amount of China's pollution is crossing the Pacific Ocean on the jet stream."

Ann Clark Cookie Cutters are made from tin plated steel produced by U.S. Steel at a plant in Ohio. The material we use is tested each year by an independent lab to verify that it is safe with regard to dangerous substances such as lead and cadmium.
