Fill your piping bags with the icing, and cut off just the tip so that you can create very fine lines when piping.

Step 2: Outline the entire fin with gray piping consistency royal icing. How to Decorate Shark Week Cookies

Step 4: Moving quickly while the flood base is still wet, pipe a white line on the left side of the fin to mimic a shadow. Pipe a second, smaller line (or dot) above the white line you just piped. A scribe tool or toothpick can be helpful to drag the line, making it look more natural. Just be careful not to mix the colors with each other, keep your toothpick firmly in the white icing. It looks best to maintain definition between the white and gray colors.Let the icing dry for at least 30-60 minutes before continuing onto the next step.

Step 5: Using blue piping consistency royal icing, pipe a series of ocean waves on the bottom of the fin. These waves do not have to be perfectly piped or symmetrical. Have some fun with it!

Step 8: Using a scribe tool or toothpick, "stir" the white and blue icings together to create a realistic looking ocean wave with a hint of white foam at the top.

And there you have it! This shape is great to decorate for beginners, and is the perfect addition to a birthday party, beach party (if your guests have a sense of humor) or for Shark Week.
