Prepare the following items:
8 Tipless Piping Bags
Leaf Green
Sky Blue Food Coloring
Super Black Food Coloring
Bright White
Pumpkin Orange (or you can use a candy-see step 11)
Spatulas & pint glasses to fill your piping bags

Step 1: Bake and cool cookies before decorating. Make sure cookies are fully cooled. If they are warm, the icing will run off of them. Make royal icing. Learn how to mix different consistencies of royal icing here>>
Prepare the following icing colors:
Piping Consistency:
Green
Blue
Black
White
Orange (or you can use a candy-see step 11)
Flood Consistency:
Green
Blue
Black
Step 2: Using piping consistency blue icing, outline the window shape as shown. Remember that you need to leave space for the tractor wheel and hub, so create a curve at the bottom to make space.

Step 3: Next, outline the body of the tractor with green piping consistency icing. Again, be sure to leave space for the wheels.

Step 4: Flood the window of the tractor with blue flood-consistency icing.

Step 5: Using black piping consistency icing, outline the tractor tires. Pipe in a zig-zag pattern around the big tire. This will create definition in the treads on the tire.

Step 6: Once the window area is dry and beginning to crust over, flood the green body of the tractor with green flood-consistency icing. Wait 30-60 minutes for the green icing to begin crusting over.

Step 7: Now, flood the tires with black flood-consistency icing.

Step 8: While the black is still wet, use green piping-consistency icing to pipe dots in the center of each wheel, as hubcaps of sort.
Step 9: Use the green piping-consistency icing to outline the window, creating good definition between the window and the body of the tractor. Lift your piping bag straight up after piping each line.
Step 10: Once all of the icing is dry and crusting over, pipe a few swooping lines of white on the window to create some glare. Remember to pull your piping bag straight up when you want your line to end, this will prevent unwanted wandering lines.

Step 11: Add a dot of pumpkin orange piping consistency icing or a small orange candy (like an M&M) to the front of the tractor for the headlights.
Step 12: Pipe details on the tractor. Use green piping-consistency icing to create wheel wells over the wheels.
Step 13: Use black piping-consistency icing to create additional details on the tractor. Pipe lines across the body and on the undercarriage. Pipe lines in the wheels to add more dimension.

These green tractor cookies are great for the John-Deere or Fendt fan in your life. More of a Case International, Massey Ferguson, or Mahindra person? Make them red! For the Kubota lovers an orange tractor will make their day, and New Holland fans will delight in blue tractors. Whatever color you make these tractor cookies, they're sure to be best in show!
