I added double the anise, and was perfect. For the first time in years, this recipe gave me just the right amount of icing for one batch of Anise Cookies. Highly recommend.
Perfect icing for gingerbread cookies

60 years ago when I was about 10 years old, "Iced Anise Bars" were a treat from the grocery store. They were bar-shaped, thick, soft gingerbread cookies in a cellophane package; half of them had white icing on them and the rest were pink. I'm going to use this icing on mine, which will be round. They will be my special treat and a nostalgic one.
