No Chill Sugar Cookie Dough
INGREDIENTS:
  • 1 cup Butter, cool
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 Large Egg
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla
  • 1 tablespoon Cream
  • 2 cups Flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1-1/2 teaspoon Baking Powder
DIRECTIONS:
Preheat oven to 375°.

Cut the butter into pieces. With an electric mixer thoroughly mix the butter, sugar, egg, vanilla and cream until smooth.

Stir together flour, salt and baking powder, then add to the mixture and beat until dough is well mixed. Now you're ready, without chilling, to turn the dough onto a dusting of flour and confectioner's sugar and roll to 1/4 inch thickness with a rolling pin, cut the cookies and bake on parchment paper or directly on an ungreased cookie sheet at 375° for 6 to 8 minutes.

I was excited about no chilling time, and the fact that the recipe is small enough to just "make a quick batch". The flavor is fine, but they didn't keep their shape. If I make these again, I'll definitely chill them well before cutting.

My daughter and I loved this recipe. It was quick, easy to roll out and cut. We did place it in the fridge while there oven preheated. Most shapes kept their shape. There was a little puffing. These are really tasty as well. Take them out before they start to turn light brown to keep them soft.
